This policy explains what Queenscliff.com.au collects, why, and who else receives it. It is written to the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Queenscliff.com.au is owned and operated by Pacific Fund Pty Ltd (ABN 75 143 185 406), an independent private company. We are not connected with the Borough of Queenscliffe or any other federal, state or local government body. You can reach us through the contact form.
Information you send us. If you use the contact form or submit an event, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. Those submissions are delivered to us by email and are not stored in a database on this website. We use them to answer you and, for event submissions, to decide whether to list the event.
Server logs. Our web server records standard request information — IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page and browser user agent. These are used for troubleshooting, security and traffic analysis.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, in aggregate. It records page views and a small number of events, including when someone submits the accommodation search or follows an outbound link to a listing's own website. We do not use it to identify individuals.
We do not ask for, and this site has no facility to take, payment details.
Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to store. The cookies set on this site come from three sources:
Your browser can block or delete cookies. The site will still work, though the booking links may no longer be attributed to us.
This site earns money two ways, and both are disclosed where they appear:
We are not the booking provider. Once you follow one of those links, the booking, payment, cancellation and any personal information you enter are handled by Wotif under its own terms and privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers described above — our web host, Google and Partnerize — and only to the extent each needs it to do its job. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Some of these providers store and process data outside Australia.
This site links to accommodation providers, venues, event organisers and other destination websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
This site is a general travel and visitor information site intended for adults planning a trip. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through the contact form. In practice we hold very little: an enquiry you have sent us is usually all there is. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can refer it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy. Any change is published on this page and the date below is updated.
