Queenscliff Events

There is always something on in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale. The biggest weekend of the year is the Queenscliff Music Festival, held on the last weekend of November since 1997, when the whole town turns into a festival playground of stages, street performances, food and family activities. Accommodation books out well in advance, so plan early.

Year round, the Blues Train departs Queenscliff Railway Station most Saturday evenings from October to May — dinner, dancing and four live blues acts aboard a heritage steam train — while the Bellarine Railway runs family steam trips along Swan Bay on Sundays and school holidays. Fort Queenscliff opens for guided tours on weekends and holidays, taking in the underground magazines and gun emplacements of Australia's best-preserved 19th-century fortress.

Market lovers are well served: the Point Lonsdale Market runs on the second Sunday of every month at the primary school on Bowen Road, and the Queenscliffe Community Market fills Lower Princess Park on the last Sunday of the month from September to May. Queenscliff Town Hall also hosts an ongoing program of intimate live shows by well-known Australian artists.
